About Dr. Timothy Norris

Famous for his work in psychotherapy, family counseling, and conflict resolution, Dr. Timothy Norris has attained a diverse educational background after obtaining 3 Master’s degrees in sociology, a specialist in education and psychometry, grief counseling, working with youth that are delinquent, psychotherapy, family/couples counseling, group therapy, teaching, and parent training and a Doctorate in professional counseling. With these outstanding educational achievements his main goal is to keep the community educated and uplifted, as his goal is to bring direction and availability to those who suffer with mental illness and also prevention. 


As a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Grief Counselor. He has made it his mission to serve and counsel those in need as the Chief Executive Director of DMN Behavioral and Counseling Group, LLC. 


Dr. Norris named his agency in honor of his deceased brother Donald M. Norris, who was murdered in 2008 by gun violence. Since the death of his brother, Dr. Norris has worked extensively with youth in the community on conflict resolution, making good decisions, friendship, family, and death.


Dr. Norris is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S), a National Certified Grief Counselor (GC-C), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Psychometrist; with a master’s degree in Sociology from thee Jackson State University, a Specialist degree in Education (Psychometry) and a Doctorate in Professional Counselor from Mississippi College.

There is a critical obstacle faced by many in the community of Mississippi in addressing the mental health crisis which has seen an increase since the pandemic. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 431,000 adults in Mississippi have a mental health condition and 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience illness each year. These alarming statistics further identify that there are 119,000 adults in Mississippi who did not receive needed mental health care because of costs.
